A pronounced decrease in the population of living organisms has been noted and numerous species have been found to be threatened with extinction in recent years. It is said that we are encountering a crisis of the sixth mass extinction of species in the history of Earth.	近年、生物の個体数の顕著な減少が明らかになり、数多くの絶滅危惧種も同定された。我々は、地球の歴史上6度目の生物種の大量絶滅の危機を迎えていると言われている。
